Driver advances about 3 feet.  By connecting the 10-foot cable to the chain-movement and to the bracket on the turntable (see detail) the driver now swings the turntable and loaded container back.

Upon proper securing of the safety-lock mechanism, the container is now ready for transport on the rail-car.

to transfer a unit from a loaded railcar, the foregoing procedure is reversed:

Driver verifies if the truck chassis corresponds to the level of the turntable.  If necessary an air-ride or stabilizer adjustment will align the two units.
